“Christmas: Doing God’s Will for a Better Future”
Celestial Church of Christ — God Is My Light Parish
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, as we celebrate the birth of Your Son, let Your light shine upon us. Teach us to walk in Your will so that our future may reflect Your glory. Amen.
SERMON
1. Introduction: Christmas Is More Than Celebration
Christmas is not only about the star, the manger, the shepherds, or the wise men.
It is about God’s will being revealed on earth.
The birth of Jesus shows us three things:
-
God keeps His promises,
-
God brings light into darkness,
-
God calls us to align with His will.
At Christmas, heaven did not give us a festival—heaven gave us a purpose.
2. Christmas: The Perfect Example of Doing God’s Will
a. Mary Obeyed God’s Will
Mary said “Be it unto me according to Thy word.”
Her obedience brought salvation to the world.
b. Joseph Obeyed God’s Will
Even when confused, Joseph followed God’s instruction in a dream.
Because he obeyed, the Savior was protected.
c. Jesus Came to Do God’s Will
Jesus Himself said:
“I came down from heaven not to do my will, but the will of Him who sent me.”
Christmas is the celebration of divine obedience.
3. Doing God’s Will Opens the Door to a Better Future
If you want 2025 and beyond to be better, brighter, and blessed, you must walk in God’s will.
a. God’s Will Brings Light
Our parish statement declares:
“God Is My Light.”
Where His will is present, darkness disappears.
Confusion clears.
Destiny becomes visible.
b. God’s Will Brings Protection
Just as God protected baby Jesus from Herod, He protects those who follow His path.
c. God’s Will Brings Provision
The wise men brought gifts.
When you walk in God’s will, He sends helpers from unexpected places.
d. God’s Will Guarantees a Better Future
Your future is not secured by money, connections, or strength—
It is secured by obedience to God.
4. How To Do God’s Will This Christmas and Beyond
1. Surrender Your Heart
Let Jesus be born in your heart, not just in your calendar.
2. Walk in Love
Christmas is love in action—charity, forgiveness, peace.
3. Seek God in Prayer
Every major Christmas event was guided by prayer and revelation.
4. Obey God Promptly
Delayed obedience is disobedience.
Your next miracle may be waiting for your next act of obedience.
5. Live as Children of Light
Celestial Church is a church of divine light.
We must reject darkness—bitterness, lies, immorality, envy—and shine with God’s character.
5. Christmas Message for the Parish
At God Is My Light Parish, Christmas is a reminder that:
-
We are called to reflect the Light of Christ
-
We are chosen to walk in holiness
-
We are appointed to shine in our communities
-
We are destined for a brighter future—if we do God’s will
The star of Bethlehem did not shine for everyone;
It shone for those who sought God.
If you seek His will, your star will shine in the coming year.
