Spiritually Reborn As God’s Children

1. Introduction: A Call to New Birth
Beloved in Christ, today we reflect on what it truly means to be spiritually reborn as God’s children.
In the Celestial Church of Christ, we confess that God is Light, and that all who walk in His light must experience a transformation—an inward rebirth that changes our identity, our desires, and our destiny.
Many attend church. Many sing hymns. Many carry spiritual items. But not all are reborn. Spiritual rebirth is not outward ritual—it is inward renewal by the Holy Spirit.
2. What Does It Mean to Be Spiritually Reborn?
a. A New Identity
To be reborn is to receive a new spiritual identity as a child of God.
Jesus said: “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
This is not physical birth but a heavenly transformation.
b. A New Heart
The reborn child of God receives a heart that loves righteousness, truth, and holiness.
The things that once held us lose their power.
The light of God begins to shine within us.
c. A New Nature
Old habits break.
Old spiritual bonds fall.
Old darkness fades.
When we are reborn, God does not just forgive us—He recreates us.
3. Why We Must Be Reborn
a. To Walk in God’s Light
Our parish declares boldly: “God Is My Light.”
But only those who are reborn can truly walk in that divine light.
Rebirth opens our eyes to spiritual reality and protects us from hidden darkness and unseen attacks.
b. To Become True Sons and Daughters
A child resembles the Father.
If God is holy, His children must walk in holiness.
If God is love, His children must love.
If God is light, His children must shine.
c. To Inherit the Kingdom
The inheritance of God is reserved for His children—those who have been spiritually reborn into His household.
4. Signs That You Are Spiritually Reborn
-
Desire for holiness more than worldly pleasure.
-
Love for the things of God—prayer, worship, Scripture, fellowship.
-
Transformation of character—patience, humility, forgiveness.
-
Conviction of sin—your heart cannot be comfortable with darkness.
-
Walking in light—your behavior aligns with the will of God.
-
Inner peace and spiritual clarity—the Holy Spirit speaks to your heart.
If these signs are not present, God is calling you deeper.
5. How Can We Experience Spiritual Rebirth?
a. Genuine Repentance
Turning away from sin—not only with lips but with the heart.
b. Sincere Faith in Jesus Christ
Accepting Him as Savior, Redeemer, and the Light of your life.
c. Yielding to the Holy Spirit
Allowing the Spirit to prune, purify, and transform you daily.
d. Living by the Word of God
A reborn child of God feeds on the Word and grows in spiritual maturity.
e. Fellowship and Obedience
Remaining connected to the church, walking in obedience to God’s instructions, and engaging in worship with sincerity.
6. The Celestial Calling: A People of Light
As members of the Celestial Church of Christ, we are not ordinary believers—we are called to be the light of the world, clothed in purity and spiritual glory.
Spiritual rebirth empowers us to:
-
Shine in our families
-
Shine in our workplaces
-
Shine in holiness
-
Shine in spiritual authority
Where there is light, darkness must bow.
